FAQ - New Parking Inc.

Q: What are the benefits of using the Cell Parking™ system?

A: There are many benefits to using our system. First and foremost, how many times have you been at a parking meter only to discover that you didn't have enough pocket change to park your car? Cell Parking™ eliminates the need to carry around coins to park your car.

Another benefit is peace of mind - you don't have to worry about the meter expiring if your activities take longer than expected. The system continues your parking time until you tell it to stop, or until the maximum time allowed for the parking meter has been reached.

You can also legally park at a meter when it is broken or out of operations – think of it as an advantage over the “coin users”.

You also get a statement that shows all of your parking transactions for the month. This can come in handy if you are able to use parking as a business expense.

Q: If I am at a meter with a New Parking sticker on it, can I still use coins?

A: Certainly. A key advantage of our system is that we don't change the meter. The parking meter still operates as always if you for some reason do not wish to use the Cell ParkingTM system.

Q: Is a cell phone absolutely required?

A: Yes. You need to be able to phone in right from the parking meter so that you can enter the correct parking meter ID. Likewise, you need to be able to stop the parking meter right from the parking meter. This way, you avoid the possibility of getting a fine if you stop the transaction too early. You also have to have caller ID enabled on your phone, otherwise you cannot use the service.

Q: Does it matter which mobile provider I use?

A: Not at all.

Q: Can I use your system for any parking meter?

A: No. The parking meter must have a New Parking™ sticker on it to be used with our system.

Q: I'm legally parked using your system, but the meter still says, "expired". How does a Parking Enforcement Officer know that I'm legally parked?

A: The parking officials have access to our system too. They access our system via a handheld device to determine who is currently parking using our system.

Q: What happens if I get a parking violation even though I was parked legally?

A: If this happens, give us a call or send us an email at support@new-parking.com.

The following information is needed for New Parking to look into the situation:

1) Date and time the ticket was issued
2) The parking meter Id # (either the cell phone id# or the one on the ticket)
3) The drivers Cell Phone #.
4) The drivers license plate #

We will provide you with a detailed list of the transactions and meter numbers when you were parking with our system. Rest assured that every transaction you make using New Parking EPPS™ is logged in our servers and so we can easily trace down details of your call. Try that when you pay by coins!

Q: What happens to my personal information after I give it to New Parking Inc.?

A: We only use it to bill you or to contact you regarding billing issues or major Cell Parking™ system upgrades. Please see our Privacy Policy for more info.

Q: What happens if my cell phone battery dies?

A: No need to worry. You will never pay for more as the maximum legal parking time is for that parking meter as the Cell Parking™ system automatically stops your parking transaction when the maximum time is reached. For the same reason if you are close to the maximum parking limit, you don’t have to worry about calling back.

Q: When entering parking meter number, is “5” the same as “05”?

A: No. Remember, the system is fully automated and it will interpret ”05” as different value as “5” and most likely you get an error message that the meter number is not valid.

Billing Information

Q: Are there any extra charges to use the system?

A: No. There are no charges to use Cell Parking™ system - you pay the same amount of money as you would if you used coins. And you don’t have to guess how much time you actually end up spending at the parking meter. Please note that this is possibly subject to change as per local parking authorities.

Q: Are there any payment options other than credit card?

A: Not at this time, but we are working on it.

Q: Can I use my parent's credit card?

A: If your parents call us to set up the account, and register it under your cell phone number, that is fine. As long as the credit card owner gives us authorization to charge their credit card, you can use it with their permission.

Q: How do I see a list of my parking transactions?

A: We will email you an statement at the end of each billing period that contains the details of all of your parking transactions for the month. However we will not mail you a paper copy as New Parking Inc. is an environmentally friendly company.

You can also log in at www.cell-parking.com to review your parking transactions. If you do not have web account set up yet please contact us at support@new-parking.com and we will assist you.

What if…

Q: What if my caller ID is turned off?

A: Sorry, you have to have caller ID turned on. As many other intelligent, interactive telephone based services, we absolutely need your caller ID to identify you.

Q: What if I drop the call?

A: Well, that can happen. If you are not sure whether your transaction went through, please call main number again and listen to the messages. If you hear “There is a parking transaction…” then you are legally parked.

Q: What if I get a message “The system can only be used when calling from a mobile phone” and yet I am calling from a mobile phone?

A: Please contact our customer support at 866-350-PARK.

Q: Why did I get transferred to the call center when I recently registered?

A: What has most likely happened is that for some reason your caller ID was not recognized. This can happen because of
• Call center agent made an error when entering your cell phone number
• Your caller ID was not transmitted properly when you made the call.

If this happens please contact us at support@new-parking.com to resolve this issue.

Q: What if I am all of a sudden transferred to customer service?

A: Our system is programmed in such a way that any three incorrect entries trigger automatic transfer to operator so they can help you.

Q: What if I use a spam-filter?

A: First of all, please keep in mind that no spam filter is ever going to be 100% effective, primarily because it is not easy to unambiguously define what constitutes spam. As New Parking is sending the regular invoices via email, and since the process is fully automated, it is imperative that any Cell Parking™ user enables the emails originating from domains www.new-parking.com and www.cell-parking.com so that they can receive their invoices and other relevant communication without human assistance.

Please note that due to the large volume of our emails we are unable to manually respond to every single opt-in request and as a policy we will NOT comply with them. If you are using a company email that uses spam-filter(s) you can either request your system administrator to white list our domains www.new-parking.com and www.cell-parking.com or switch to a different email.

Also please note that our Terms and Conditions specifically require whitelisting of the above domains.
